IAQA ISSUES CALL FOR 2015 ANNUAL MEETING PAPERS
IAQA has issued a Call for Papers for its 18th Annual Meeting, to be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, TX from March 16 – 18, 2015. Presentations are specifically requested on: IAQ assessment strategies; moisture measurement in materials; interpretation of laboratory analytical results; principles of developing a sample strategy; methods and best practices for IAQ contractors; building sciences; and, interaction with other professionals on multidisciplinary teams. Presentations are also welcome on other topics related to indoor environments, including business management topics.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The deadline for Call for Papers submittals has passed. The deadline was July 1, 2014. Persons interested in giving technical presentations must submit an abstract no more than 400 words in length that gives the title of the presentation, a brief description of its contents and references cited. Submittals must also include the speaker’s biography. Presentation times will be 50 minutes in length. Final selections will be made by IAQA by August 15 and authors will be notified by September 1st. Selected speakers will be given complimentary discounted admittance to the Annual Meeting. Please note that those selected will be required to submit materials summarizing their presentation (full paper or presentation slides) to IAQA by November 1, 2014. All material presented at IAQA must be substantiated by scientific literature citations, where available. In subject areas lacking research, presenters shall clearly state what source(s) the presentation material is based upon or note that the presentation is based on their experience. Written permission must be obtained for any copy written material used in conjunction with the submitted paper or presentation. Presenters must clearly declare any competing interests at the beginning of their presentation.
Presentations at the IAQA Annual Meeting must be strictly non-commercial. Presenters of papers accepted for conference presentation will need to confirm their participation prior to final scheduling. IAQA will work with individuals who may be eligible to receive CEUs as a result of giving a presentation. Presenters may be eligible to receive CEUs from the following certifying organizations: American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC), National Air Filtration Association (NAFA), National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), North American Technician Excellence (NATE), Restoration Industry Association (RIA), and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Pre-conference training workshops 4 hours in length will be included in the 2015 conference program, taking place on March 15th, 2015. IAQA is seeking abstract submittals for these workshops as well. These workshops should provide advanced training in the theory and practice of a topic relevant to indoor air quality, including HVAC and building science. Proposals will be considered for both basic and advanced workshops, though there is a preference for advanced workshops. Proposals should include: a) Statement of Need; b) specific learning objectives; and, c) an outline of the subject material. The source of all material presented at IAQA must be identified as described above (personal experience, published literature or other source) and declaration made of any competing interests. The deadline to submit proposals for pre-conference workshops has now passed.
