IAQA Research Projects

Current Projects

IAQA is co-funding research by University of Tulsa to study the correlation between indoor air quality and student performance. The two year study titled Indoor Air Quality and Academic Performance in Public Schools will be using physical measurement of IAQ parameters, test scores, absenteeism as well as economical and social factors to determine if indoor air quality impacts student performance. By revealing the adverse effects of school environments on student performance, schools and governmental agencies may be better motivated to strive to achieve IAQ improvements for healthier school environments.

IAQA will be providing in-kind support for a research project, A Critical Review of Current Practices for Managing Moldy Indoor Materials, proposed by Saint Louis University School of Public Health sponsored by Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). IAQA will be providing Saint Louis University with access to the industry's professionals by convening focus groups, distributing surveys and lining up expert panels to assist the university in creating a white paper for dissemination.
